Sensitivity

The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approx. IOsec(turn fully anticlockwise) and a maximum of 12min(turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Time Setting

The chosen light response threshold can be adjusted from <3-2000 Lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk-to-dawn operation at aboutl., 2 Lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select continuous daylight operation. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight, then adjust setting according to site requirement.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

Set light sensitivity from 2 to 2000 lux. Fully left = night-only mode (2 lux), fully right = day mode. Turn fully right during testing in daylight, then adjust per requirement.

Test Instructions

  1.  Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise on the minimum(-). Turn the LUX knob clockwise on the maximum (sun).
  2. Switch on the power; the sensor and its connected lamp will have no signal at the beginning. After Warm-up 30sec,
the sensor can start work If the sensor receives the induction signal, the lamp will turn on. While there is no
another induction signal any more, the load should stop working within 10sect3sec and the lamp would turn off.
  3. Turn LUX knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (moon). If the ambient light is more than 3LUX, the sensor would not
work and the lamp stop working too. If the ambient light is less than 3LUX (darkness), the sensor would work. Under
no induction signal condition, the sensor should stop working within 10sec+3sec.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Applications

Discover how the IRIS S12 PIR Presence Sensor brings intelligent, surface-mounted lighting control to work and circulation areas.

High Rise Building_Motion Sensor

High-Rise Buildings

Enable hands-free lighting in cabins, small offices and shared work areas. IRIS S12 senses movement in its PIR field and turns lights ON as soon as someone enters, then switches them OFF after the room has been vacant for the set delay.

hospitals_motion sensor

Washrooms & Toilets

Improve hygiene and convenience in common and premium washrooms. IRIS S12 automatically activates the lights when a user enters and turns them OFF after they leave—so switches don’t get touched repeatedly and lights are never left running all day.

Corridors & Lift Lobbies

Keep corridors, lift lobbies and internal passages safely lit only while they’re in use. The surface-mounted IRIS S12 monitors movement along the path and ensures the lights follow occupancy instead of burning 24/7.

office_motion sensor

Staircases & Landings

Avoid dark stairs without permanent ON lighting. IRIS S12 reacts quickly to people using staircases and landings, providing automatic ON during movement and OFF after the configured hold time, improving safety and reducing power bills.

More Applications

Slide
Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience responsive, presence-based lighting with IRIS S12’s PIR sensing and adjustable time and daylight settings.

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, IRIS S12 only turns lights ON when both conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the chosen lux threshold. This prevents lights from switching on in naturally bright spaces such as window-side offices, bright corridors or washrooms with daylight.

lux setting-Motion Sensor

Sufficient daylight

When the space is already bright enough, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if motion is detected, avoiding wasted energy.

lux setting night-Motion Sensor

Low daylight with motion

When the room becomes dim and IRIS S12 detects movement, it switches the lights ON automatically for safe and comfortable visibility.

Detection-Motion Sensor

After people leave

Once motion stops, the light remains ON for the selected hold time and then turns OFF automatically, ready for the next occupancy event.

No Daylight Function

In No Daylight mode, IRIS S12 ignores ambient light and works purely on presence detection. This is ideal for enclosed or consistently dim zones—like internal washrooms, back corridors and internal cabins—where lights should always respond whenever movement is detected.

motion detection_sensionva

Motion detected

As soon as a person enters the detection area, the PIR sensor responds to body heat and brings the lights ON to full brightness.

motion detection_sensionva

Area still occupied

As long as movement continues within the field of view, IRIS S12 keeps the lights ON, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Detection-Motion Sensor

No motion detected

After the last detected movement and once the configured hold time expires, the lights switch OFF automatically to save energy

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

IRIS S12 includes an adjustable daylight (lux) threshold so you can decide at what brightness level the sensor should start responding. This ensures artificial lighting is only used when natural light is no longer sufficient

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

Fine-tune the detection area to match each space. IRIS S12 offers sensitivity adjustment so it can focus on the intended zone and reduce false triggers from neighbouring corridors, open doors or nearby movement.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

Every new movement detected by IRIS S12 resets the internal timer. Lights remain ON continuously while people are moving or working within the detection zone, preventing sudden switch-offs in busy offices or washrooms.

You Set the Timeout

Choose how long the lights stay ON after the last motion—from short delays for washrooms and corridors to longer timings for cabins and lobbies. This lets you adapt sensor behaviour to the way each area is actually used.
