Specifications Setting

Consider the picture. S1, S2 set lux, S3, S4, set time S5, S6, set the sensitivity.

Light-control Setting

The chosen light response threshold can be infinitely from approx.10lux-30lux.

Time Setting

Time can be set 20s to 10min.Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Test Instructions

  1. Turn the LUX knob & SENS knob clockwise on the maximum.
  2. Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (10s).
  3. When powered on, the light turns on immediately, then switches off after about 10 seconds. After that, the sensor operates normally upon detecting motion.
  4. If additional motion is detected during the initial activation, the timer resets and restarts from that moment.
  5. Turn the LUX knob to the minimum (3) for night-only operation. The sensor will activate the light only when ambient light is below 3 LUX.

READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPACE?

Surface-Mount Smart Motion Control with Nova PFC-S

Nova PFC-S is a surface-mounted microwave motion sensor designed for intelligent lighting control in commercial and residential spaces. Installed on standard ceilings or flat surfaces, it detects movement with wide coverage and turns lights ON automatically when people enter – then switches them OFF after the set delay. This helps keep corridors, washrooms, staircases and work areas safely lit while significantly reducing energy waste.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Applications

Discover how the Nova PFC-S Microwave Motion Sensor automates lighting in everyday circulation and work areas with reliable detection and efficient, surface-mounted installation.

Offices & Cabins

Enable hands-free lighting in modern workspaces. Nova PFC-S detects entry and movement in cabins, meeting rooms and open-plan zones, keeping lights ON during occupancy and turning them OFF after people leave to avoid unnecessary burning hours.

Washrooms & Toilets

Improve hygiene and convenience by removing the need to touch switches. Nova PFC-S turns lights ON automatically when someone enters common washrooms or toilets and switches them OFF after the configured hold time once the area is vacant.

corridor

Corridors & Lift Lobbies

Maintain bright, safe corridors and lift lobbies only while they are in use. The surface-mounted sensor continuously monitors movement along the path, ensuring escape routes remain well-lit during activity and saving power when empty.

Staircases

Staircases & Landings

Avoid dark stairs without running lights 24/7. Nova PFC-S responds quickly to people using staircases and landings, providing automatic ON during movement and OFF after the selected delay, enhancing safety and reducing energy costs.

More Applications

Slide
Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience intuitive lighting control with Nova PFC-S’s adjustable sensing modes and timing options.

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, Nova PFC-S only turns lights ON when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This prevents lights from switching on in naturally bright spaces such as window-side corridors, stair landings with skylights or well-lit offices.

Sufficient daylight

When there is enough natural light, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if motion is detected, preventing unnecessary use of artificial lighting.

Low daylight with motion

When the ambient light falls below the selected lux level and Nova PFC-S detects movement, the light switches ON automatically for safe and comfortable visibility.

After people leave

Once motion stops, the light stays ON for the chosen hold time and then switches OFF automatically, ready for the next detection cycle.

No Daylight Function

The daylight threshold is set to 2000 lux to disable the light. It turns on when movement is detected, and after people leave, the light turns off once the hold time of 30 seconds has elapsed. Applications include dimly lit areas such as basement parking and underpasses.

Motion detected

As soon as a person enters the detection zone, the sensor switches the light ON to full brightness.

Area still occupied

As long as movement continues within the detection area, the light remains ON, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

No motion detected

After the last detection and the expiry of the configured hold time, the light turns OFF automatically to save energy.

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

Nova PFC-S uses an adjustable daylight (lux) setting to sense how bright the space already is. It can be configured so that lights only come ON when the room is actually dark, helping avoid wasted energy in naturally lit corridors, offices and staircases.

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

Set the detection range to suit your layout. Nova PFC-S allows sensitivity adjustment so that motion is detected only within the intended zone, helping minimise false triggers from neighbouring rooms, open doors or passing traffic.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

Each new movement detected by Nova PFC-S resets the internal timer. Lights remain ON continuously while people are present, ensuring uninterrupted illumination during busy periods in offices, washrooms and circulation areas.

You Set the Timeout

Choose how long the lights should stay ON after the last detection. The adjustable hold time lets you fine-tune behaviour for each space—from short delays for corridors and washrooms to slightly longer durations for cabins and meeting rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Nova PFC-S

What is Nova PFC-S?

Nova PFC-S is a surface-mounted microwave motion sensor designed for automatic lighting control in offices, washrooms, corridors, staircases and other indoor spaces. It detects movement using high-frequency waves and turns lights ON when motion is present, then OFF after a preset delay, improving both safety and energy efficiency.

What is the detection range of Nova PFC-S?

Nova PFC-S offers a wide coverage area suitable for typical ceiling heights in commercial and residential projects. The actual detection range depends on mounting height, orientation, surrounding materials and the selected sensitivity setting. For exact performance values, please refer to the Nova PFC-S technical data sheet supplied with the product.

Is Nova PFC-S compatible with all types of lights?

Nova PFC-S can be used with most commonly used lighting fixtures when wired according to the connection diagram—such as LED luminaires with appropriate drivers and other compatible loads within the sensor’s rated output. Always confirm compatibility with the luminaire manufacturer or your electrician before installation.

Can Nova PFC-S be installed on walls as well as ceilings?

Yes. Nova PFC-S is primarily designed for surface mounting on ceilings, but it may also be installed on suitable wall or soffit surfaces where the detection pattern suits the application. Correct mounting height and angle are important to ensure reliable sensing; follow the installation guidelines in the datasheet.

Does Nova PFC-S have adjustable settings?

Yes. Nova PFC-S typically provides adjustable parameters such as detection sensitivity (range), hold time (delay) and daylight (lux) threshold. These settings allow you to fine-tune how quickly lights switch OFF and under what light conditions they should turn ON.

Where can Nova PFC-S be used?

Nova PFC-S is ideal for indoor circulation and work areas including offices, cabins, meeting rooms, washrooms, toilets, corridors, lift lobbies, staircases and similar spaces where automatic, presence-based lighting control is required and a clean surface-mounted solution is preferred.
